Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson Profile

Mike Tyson is considered one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1966 “Iron Mike” dominated the division in his prime, reigning as the undisputed champion between 1987-1990. To this day Tyson holds the record of the youngest fighter to hold a world heavyweight title at 20.

Tyson was known for his ferocious fighting style and powerful punch. In the fight against Evander Holyfield Tyson was disqualified for biting his opponent’s ear. Tyson was also to spend time in prison for rape and has made several comebacks. His undisputed reign ended in knockout against the unfancied Buster Douglas, arguably one of the most shocking defeats in modern boxing history.

Mike Tyson had 58 fights in his professional career, with contests against Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis in his career. The 5’10” orthodox heavyweight is set to fight Roy Jones Jr in an eight round exhibition match after a contract was signed in 2020.
