Triple H: WWE Head of Creative in talks to bring back ex-Universal Champion

Braun Strowman in talks to return to WWE

Braun Strowman could become yet the latest former WWE Superstar to make his way back to the company.

Fightful Select is reporting that Braun Strowman’s name has been discussed backstage as it pertains to a potential WWE return.

Fightful Select has learned that among names pitched or discussed for a WWE return include Braun Strowman

Fightful explains that people within WWE have complimented Strowman for looking “ring ready”, with many even saying that he looks in better shape now than he did during his time with WWE.

Sean Ross Sapp notes that he is unclear how far along the negotiations are, or what pitches have been made for his return, just that his name has been thrown about internally within WWE.

Fightful reached out to people within WWE to confirm the story, who didn’t deny that its contents as accurate.

It’s important to note that the report isn’t stating that Braun has re-signed with WWE and is 100% heading back, just that his name has been discussed.

Braun Strowman, in one of the most surprising decisions WWE has made, was released by the company in June 2021.

Many people expected Strowman to be a long-time member of the WWE roster, but the former Universal Champion was fired as part of “budget cuts” last summer, alongside the likes of Aleister Black and Ruby Riott.

At the time, it was speculated that Braun was let go due to this big-money deal he was on, and Fightful has also provided some more information on that front.

The report explains that Strowman was actually in the final few months of his deal, which many people within WWE believe he was playing “hardball” over.

Strowman had re-signed with WWE in 2019, landing a major seven figure, multi-year deal that has paled in comparison to some of the newer contracts WWE has handed out over the last year. He actually got down to the last few months of his deal, and sources in WWE said that he played “hardball” during his negotiations

Fightful, as far as returns are considered, was also able to corroborate a report from last week which stated that WWE was also looking to bring Bronson Reed back to the company.

Like Strowman, Reed was cut by WWE last year, but reports state that the former NXT North American Champion is wanted for a return by new Head of Creative Triple H.
