Singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ after winning the Euros is one thing –– singing it in front of your new German teammates is a whole different story.
Few would dare to sing one of the tunes most synonymous with English football in front of a crowd of players still reeling from their defeat at Wembley last month.
Yet, that’s exactly what Lionesses hero Georgia Stanway did during her initiation for Bayern Munich.
The Lionesses’ hero joined the German side from Manchester City earlier this summer and showed no fear in belting out a rendition of the hit Neil Diamond song.
Bayern’s team features a number of stars that featured for Germany in the Euro 2022 final, including, Klara Bühl, Lea Schüller and Lina Magull.
To be fair to the German players, they appeared to enjoy Stanway’s singing, as they were filmed happily clapping along to the tune.

Fans react to Stanway’s ‘brave’ song choice
After the official FC Bayern Frauen Twitter account shared footage of Stanway, the midfielder was quick to react.
“It could only be one song,” she replied.
Meanwhile, Stanway’s England teammate Beth Mead, who was named the Player of the Tournament at Euro 2022, wrote: “Gwarnnnn G,” followed by two clapping emojis.
