Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa are names synonymous with Formula One, giving us an iconic moment at the 2008 season ending Brazilian Grand Prix.

The home favourite thought he had the world title won on the last race of the season, with his team informing him that he was the world champion over the team radio.

However, on the final corners, Hamilton got that crucial overtake on Timo Glock to win his first of his seven world titles to date, breaking Massa’s heart, creating one of the most iconic moments the sport has ever seen.

Although probably the most memorable moment between the two, the pair continued to tussle it out on track over the years, creating more iconic and memorable moments.

One of those came at the Indian Grand Prix in 2011 where the pair made contact, resulting in the Brazilian receiving a drive through penalty after turning into Hamilton.

The Brit tried to pass the Ferrari at turn five, only for Massa to turn into him. It was the fifth time the pair had collided that season, with contact at Monaco, Silverstone, Singapore and Suzuka prior.

Luckily for the Brazilian, he came away with no damage to his car, but the penalty hampered his race, having to serve it in the pits.

Unfortunately, Hamilton wasn’t as lucky, with the front wing of his McLaren visibly damaged and unable to continue with it, he had to make an extra pit stop, damaging his race, with the Brit only able to manage seventh place in the race, although Massa later had to retire.

Ferrari’s driver, Massa, broke the suspension in his car when going over the kerb, forcing him to retire, giving some solace to Hamilton and McLaren with rivals in the Constructors’ Championship missing out on vital points.

Formula One is a global mega sport and is a star attraction for all the big names from all walks of life, so at each Grand Prix, there’s a whole host of stars on show.

Rowan Atkinson who is known best for his role as Mr. Bean was in attendance at the Indain Grand Prix in 2011 and was in the McLaren garage as a guest, with his reaction summing up the feeling for all Hamilton and McLaren fans at the time.

He was caught on camera, offering a range of facial expressions, clearly frustrated but then relieved that Lewis could carry on and wasn’t put into the wall despite the damage to the front wing.
