Apex Legends: Respawn working on new FPS set in game's universe

Apex Legends Mobile

Respawn Entertainment has developed Apex Legends into a huge battle royale hit, which has generated in excess of $2 billion since its release in 2019.

And it now appears that the developers are looking to expand the universe of the competitor to Fortnite.

As per Nintendo Life, Respawn appears to be developing a new first-person shooter adventure that is also set in the Apex Legends universe.

Dexerto spotted a job listing on the Respawn website advertising for a senior engine/systems developer, and the list describes the game as an “Apex Universe FPS Incubation title”.

Other roles make it clear that it is “a brand new Respawn single-player adventure”. Another piece of information says that the role being advertised will take care of a “wide variety of systems, including collision, physics, audio” and more technical development aspects.

As per the Nintendo Life report, it is also said to exist within the same universe as Titanfall.

Respawn has said before that it is working on a single-player game but it was not made clear what that title was.

Apex Legends Mobile Game

It’s very likely that project is actually this game, which appears to have some very interesting DNA.

The potential of there being a game that exists in both the Apex Legends and Titanfall universes is very exciting for FPS fans, and it will be interesting to see if there is anymore crossover in future, given that each are exceptional shooters.

Apex Legends has been a huge hit for both the developer and publisher EA, and we have already seen the game move over to mobile.

It remains to be seen as and when new information will be revealed about this new FPS but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.
