Harry Potter fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the launch of Hogwarts Legacy later this year and millions have already pre-ordered their copy in time for Christmas.
However, there could be bad news in store for those players that have yet to get their hands on next-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X or S, with both Sony and Microsoft unable to meet the levels of demand.
At the time of writing, Avalanche Software, the developers of the game, announced that the game will be launched by ‘Holiday 2022’, despite reports suggesting that gamers will have to wait until 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy has been advertised as an open-world AAA title that will immerse fans in and around the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
So far, we have seen other titles such as Horizon Forbidden West offer up £10 upgrade fees for those that have upgraded their gaming software. However, that does not appear to be the case for Hogwarts Legacy.
How much will Hogwarts Legacy cost?
Hogwarts Legacy is currently priced by UK retailers as follows:
Smyths Toys – £54.99 (PS4)
Argos – £59.99 (Xbox One)
Argos – £59.99 (PS5)
Argos – £59.99 (Xbox Series X)
Nintendo Switch – TBC
PC – TBC
Unfortunately for those that have already put their name down for this game, no upgrade options have been announced by Warner Bros Games, the publishers, effectively disregarding this customer-friendly approach towards fans.
Hopefully, this stance changes as the launch date creeps ever closer over the next few months, as it is a method that various gaming developers have taken to cut down the additional costs that players are required to pay.
With Hogwarts Legacy expected to be a hugely popular game over the coming years, it will be interesting to see what further announcements Warner Bros make in the coming weeks and months ahead.
We will update this article as soon as we find more UK retailers stocking Hogwarts Legacy.
